- Diversity Abroad / GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Scholarship
Diversity Abroad / GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Scholarship
Founded in 2006 Diversity Abroad reaches high school, community college, university and graduate students for international education and other global exchange opportunities. Specifically, Diversity Abroad is the leading global education organization that works to diversify international student mobility through direct outreach and professional development. GlobaLinks Learning Abroad is always searching for ways to increase study abroad opportunities for non-traditional, racially diverse, economically disadvantaged and first-generation students so they might also benefit from the powerful effects of international education. "At a time when international competency is more important than ever, underserved students, many times because of financial constraints, have not had equal access to international education opportunities," said Andrew Gordon, Diversity Abroad president. "Scholarship opportunities like the Diversity Abroad/GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Scholarship open doors for underserved students to take advantage of the benefits afforded through study abroad, which ultimately prepares them to be globally competitive." This partnership with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad and Diversity Abroad deepens the Foundation's impact and is an example of what organizations can accomplish when they provide financial, through this scholarship, and outreach support toward the common goal of increasing the participation of these students in international education.
