
Scholar of the Year
Has your international education experience made an impact on your professional journey?
The Foundation for Global Scholars is interested in highlighting stories of our scholars who have connected the dots between their international education and their professional lives. We want the world to know - as you do - that the life-changing experiences gained from living and studying in another culture - help create strong, capable global citizens and leaders.
If your international education has had a positive impact on your professional career, please consider applying for our Scholar of the Year award.
The recipient of the Scholar of the Year Award will be awarded a $250 travel voucher and will be recognized on our website and through other promotional materials, as well as our annual meeting. This is an opportunity for you to gain professional recognition.
Eligibility and Applying
Any scholarship recipient from the Foundation for Global Scholars is eligible to apply for the "Scholar of the Year" Award. Applicants for the award will be required to submit a 2 minute video essay expressing how their international experience impacted their professional lives via the topics below.
All applications for 2012 will be due by November 1, 2012.
Your 2 minute video essay should address the following topics:
- Your name, your college, what type of international education program you did and where, and where you work now or what you do now
- Describe your professional goals and how your study abroad experience has supported these goals
- Name a few skills/changes that occurred personally to you as a result of your study abroad experience and how you are using those skill in your professional life (e.g. flexbility, adapabilty, cultural awareness, emerging markets knowledge, etc)
